Has anybody had any luck in marrying your computer to the FT890.  I've got the W1GEE interface cable that is for the 890 but there is no communication between the 890 and my computer.  The software I'm using is WIN-EQF.
73 and thanks

Have you properly set the menu for the CAT port?

I use a homebrew interface between my shack PC and my FT890 with no problems.  I've used a variety of software, including Ham Radio Deluxe, ACLog, and a couple of simple programs I wrote myself.

Do you get any communication at all?  Make sure you've got the serial parameters set correctly in your software - the 890 likes 4800bps, No parity, 8 bits, and 2 stop bits.

I don't know anything about your specific interface, but many of them need a line to be held high (usually RTS) to work.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions - my callsign at qsl.net.

The '890 manual points out that this radio puts out and expects TTL data levels (+5 volts and ground), NOT standard RS-232 levels which are bipolar (plus and minus) and usually around 12 volts.

Are you using the proper adapter that converts TTL levels to RS-232?

Oops, sorry. I didn't read the original post closely enought. You're using the adapter cable.
