Does anyone know if the MMB-37 quick release mount will be able to mount up an FT-2800?  I used it with an FT-2200 back in the day.

I'm asking as a buddy (new ham) has the 2800 and I don't want to ship it unless there's a fair chance it'll work out.

I noticed on ebay that someone sold one and in the description it said it would work with the newer Yazoo's like the FT-7800, which surprised me.  Hence this question.

I am not a Yaesu owner, but as I recall it will work. I believe the two radios are the same width, and that would be easy to check using on-line sources.

Don't know about the ft7800, but most manuals (also brochures) list the various accessories available for the device. Downloads are available at the Yaesu site and see if that mount is listed

Thank you for the replies OM's.  I appreciate it very much.

I did a little homework before posting, and the FT-2800 calls for the MMB-36 (which I can't even determine if it's a quick release mount or not).

I believe based on your replies I'll gamble the 4 bucks shipping and take a chance on it.  Smiley

The FT2800 uses the MMB-83 mount.
The FT897 uses the MMB-80 mount.
The FT450 uses the MMB-90 mount.
I am not sure what the MMB-37 mount was designed for, but I doubt that Yaesu would make 2 different numbered mounts for the same radio.
