Any TS-480SAT owners had a problem with the wrong SB mode being offered for a given band. i.e. LSB for 20 meters.
When I have the problem a full reset fixes it.

You should be able to press the mode button for a little longer to switch it back to the right SB.

As mentioned holding the mode switch for two seconds will switch to the opposite sideband. It will retain that setting when you power off or move to another band.

What concerns me about the situation, is that it changes sidebands without my intervention. This apparently happens on power up. It just does not seem right to me. The sideband was correct at power down.

Do you have a memory battery in that thing?
Probably just needs changing.
