amplifiers

I would like to build an 80-10 amplifier using the still readily available 6146 tubes. Im thinking about something in the 500w PEP range and capable of being driven comfortably by the average ricebox. I.E., Yaesu FT-840.(20w AM/100w SSB) Does anyone know if any plans/scematics for sutch a unit are available anywhere, web our elsewhere ?

You would need 10 tubes, and designing an input and output tank for same, could be done, but not advisable. Even if you did everything correctly, a pair 3-500Z would beat the pants off them; cost less in the long run; most-likely cleaner spectrum wise; and about a few dozen other things, better!
