I was shocked to tune in 14.275 a few minutes ago and hear a commercial advertisment for hamtest.com plus news in broadcast format from K1MAN, Glen Baxter. I thought the FCC took care of him. What's going on? Is radio broadcasting with commercial announcements legal on the ham bands?

The FCC has yet to rule on the fate of his license. I don't know what they are waiting for. I also doubt he has paid his $21K fine.

Don't you know the answer to this?
Of course it's not.

Of course I know it's not, that was a rhetorical question. As it isn't legal why has the FCC allowed this to go on for so long? It gives other LIDS encouragement to do the same thing.

14.275 has volunteered to give up its life as a valid ham radio frequency to protect us all.
I salute you, proud few kHz of 20m, for your service to the ham radio fraternity in attracting your denizens and keeping them there...

He's probably testing the new sheriff.
Wonder what would happen if Ms. Smith got a lot of complaints?

the purpose and satisfaction an agitator receives is the response be it given on the internet or on-the-air.
on-the-air agitators are merely pre-internet trolls.
ignore it.
if it is worthy for the fcc to take action they eventually will.
so quit being like a bunch of do-gooders and let the posse take aim...

Well, it is going onward to FOUR YEARS since old Baxter's license renewal has been in "Review" by the F.C.C. <<<WHAT A JOKE >>>
He is allowed to "Operate" until his license is officially either not renewed or revoked.
At least the crap Programming he is presenting on the frequency has kept the CB'ers away. That in itself is a slight improvement!!
He REALLY needs to clean up the audio.... Sounds like a CHEAP tape recorder that he must have picked up at a garage sale somewhere!!

Baxter's a looney tune.
Pity, I remember 30-40 years ago he was well renown as a Collins expert who could fix, and make work better, almost anything Collins ever built.
I don't recall exactly when he found the world was flat and sailed over the edge. ;-)

Maybe being around too much RF affected his mental state.

"Why is Glen Baxter K1MAN back on the air running a broad" And I'll bet that "broad" is getting pretty tired by now.

How is this personally injuring you? Use the VFO knob...

If the complaints start going in again, it'll be only a matter of time before the FCC goes back to his 'studios' and shuts him down once again. The idea to "turn the big knob" is fine--but before you do, take down the time and report him to the 'new sheriff'.

If you hear illegal activity, (even repeated illegal activity) report it to the FCC. Each instance is reportable. If they do nothing... report it to your congressman. 73s.

Who cares about this guy. There are more douche bags on the ham bands than him.
