Free Live Training Opportunity - Virginia

Virginia RACES, Inc. is presenting a free all-day training workshop on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.  While priority seating is reserved for Virginia RACES members, any remaining seats are available for other interested amateurs or served agency representatives to attend and observe the training.

Non-member amateurs and agency representatives wishing to audit the training are asked to contact the Virginia RACES State Emergency Radio Officer, Steve Cuccio, NB3O via email SERO@VaRACES.org

This session will provide an in-depth look at Incident Command System (ICS) protocols and message formats, personal preparedness, and terrorism awareness as well as a review of typical amateur radio emergency concepts. This is an excellent opportunity for new amateur radio operators to become familiar with emergency communications principles and benefit from the fellowship with other amateur radio operators.

From Leesburg and points East:
Take Purcellville exit off of Rt 7 W
Turn left at exit ramp (light) onto 287 S
Turn right onto Hirst Road (first traffic light)
Take first Left onto Maple Avenue
Take first left into large LVHS parking lot adjoining the tennis courts
Use NW entrance

From Winchester:
Take Purcellville exit off of Rt 7 E
Turn right onto 287 S
Take first right onto Hirst Road (light)

Park in the student parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts and use the Northwest entrance of the building to enter the Auditorium.
There is no eating, alcohol or tobacco products are not allowed inside the school, however Mario's on Maple Avenue in downtown Purcellville is open for Italian food, approximately one quarter mile from the school. Morning, lunch, and afternoon breaks will be provided.

District 10 Virginia Races Training, October 16, 2004
The Emergency Radio Officers of District 10 will be hosting the Virginia RACES free training on Saturday, October 16, 2004, 8:30AM in the Technology Theater, Workforce Development Center, Paul D. Camp Community College, 100 North College Drive, Franklin, VA 23851. http://www.pc.cc.va.us/

Follow 58 East Bypass to Franklin (approximately 5 miles)
