I am going to use pulsed tuning to lessen the stress on my amplifier during tune-ups. Is there an advantage to using a commercially made tuning pulser over my CW keyer set for about 40 wpm and sending all dits?

As long as you have a peak reading wattmeter, the CW dits should work just fine.
