Has anybody a design for a simple yet effective antenna for ATV?

I can not place a very large antenna and am looking for a "mobile" antenna. I want to build a small Yagi, but are there any better antennas that have approximately the same size?

Please, let me know. Or if you have any tips or suggestions, please put them here.

By the way, it is for receiving only at the moment...

Depending on your needs, a corner reflector is relatively small
and broadband, and it is easy to get 10dB of gain without critical
adjustments.

You might also research "loop yagis", which are similar to quads
but use strips of sheet metal bent into a circle instead of wire loops.

For omnidirectional coverage, a vertical piece of copper pipe with
a slot cut in the side will give horizontal polarization with some gain.
I've seen this antenna described somewhere but don't remember
just where at the moment.

Good luck! - Dale WB6BYU
