I was thinking , i have been using my astroplane for a scanner antenna for a while now. I do pickup distant stations fair. sence i think it needs to be longer to be set for the 150 mhz range ,can i take out the bolt that holds the prongs on the top and screw in a steel whip then adjust it?

                              Thanks

The Astroplane is a CB (~27MHz) antenna.  It would need to be much shorter to be tuned for 150MHz scanner use.

There was a guy around here somewhere (Elmers Forum) that was trying to turn his Ringo Ranger into a CB antenna.  (It's a 146MHz 2m ham band, but can be adjusted across 130-150)

Why don't you guys arrange a trade?
