My best homebrew superhet to date :-)

Hello all!

I just wanted to share a few photo's of my newest
(and best-est) home brew super heterodyne receiver!

It was featured in the 1941/44 ARRL handbooks, and
was their most sophisticated HF design at that time.

Of course, I had to build all 4 sets to see how they
operate :-)

It's a real kick for me to watch those old photographs
come back alive as the sets are built .. kind of like
bringing back those Jurassic park dinosaurs :-)

And, I'm perpetually surprised at how well these sets
perform!

    If I recall correctly, I remember seeing articles in the '60s for some really great simple AM transmitters using just a couple of common tubes.  I think they might have been in an old Popular Electronics, Electronics Illustrated, or Radio TV Experimenter of the time period.  Anyone know of a source either online or offline for articles or back issues of those great old publications?
