I will be a college student next year and will be operating quite a bit from the club station there. Is it necesssary to change my address when I am living in the dorms? Is there a surefire, hassle free way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Unless your college address is intended to be permanent, you can leave your address for FCC purposes "at home" as long as there is someone there who will receive mail for you and forward it as necessary.

For my time in college and a couple years while I moved around, I kept my parents address as my QTH. This is concidered leagal as long as you can get the mail from this address.

After settling down in one location, I finally changed my address. It was just submitting a form to update my info.
