What exactly is a sympathy sign off?  Never heard that before.

I'm sure there's a lot of phrases you've never heard.

Like a lot of situations you'll encounter in life, there's not always going to be someone to hold your hand, and explain everything.

In this example, if you look at the words in  context, the meaning is self-evident.

Have you considered looking up 'decency' SOFAR?

decency
noun
1. behaviour that conforms to accepted standards of morality or respectability.

Why not just help someone, rather than tell them to piss off and RTFM?  Have you even read the original ARRL Ham Code?

SOFAR you did lack decency in your reply when I asked what a sympathy sign off was.

Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

Years from now, you'll be grateful.

It's official..

You are hereby anointed my #1 leg-humper.

When one is preoccupied with the 'standards' of others. It's usually indicative of unresolved issues in their own lives.
