Yeasu VX-1R display problem

Hi everybody,
Just wander if anybody have the same problem
with display in Yeasu VX-1R just after power is on.
Display LCD looks like its formating himself, and its OK after 10-20 seconds. Is this normal? or I should call service Yeasu, although after reading some comments about Yeasu service probably this will not help
