If we emulate the paper QSL system currently in use, the sequence would be something like:
Ham A makes a contact with Ham B.
Ham A enters the contact in the electronic QSL system. This also allows for transmission of pictures of the shack, dog, etc. along with other personal/technical information.
The system then E-Mails Ham B.
So far this is equivalent to filling out and mailng a card.
Ham B then logs onto the system and either confirms or denies the contact.
The system the E-Mails Ham A with the results.
Ham B's information as above is now available for Ham A to view.
Again, equivalent to filling out and mailing a card.
For contest submissions, each participating contest entity would provide the system with an electronic address to which contact summaries would be sent.
This is equivalent to sending in a log sheet or a cabrillo or other format file. Additionally, since both parties are known to the system, the validity of the contact is as guaranteed as is possible.
What say you all?
