I would urge you to take the Extra class exam and earn the CW band space you desire. When I took my Advanced and Extra theory tests I found the Extra far easier than the Advance at that time.

Better yet since the FCC had already said no grandfathering of the Advanced license to extra class how about this proposal. All advanced class licensees are down graded to the General class privelages. This frees up extra bandwidth for the Extras that sat and took the test. This way the FCC only has to track a couple of classes, then maybe they could upgrade the Novices to techs and then their system will really be streamlined!

Really, as a past advanced class license holder I have to say the 'new' extra test is easier than what my original advanced test was like. I decided that I did not need the Extra privelages and my Adv. was fine for what I am doing, shoot, a Tech. license would be fine as I operate VHF and higher for Satellites and weak signal work but I want a 1x2 call so I took the test.

Just study a little and go take the test.
