Here it comes.  This is a big utility in the Southeast going to test Broadband over Powerlines.

Write the FCC and your congressmen about how it is interfering with your shortwave reception and your reception of local commercial AM and FM.  Write your local commercial AM and FM stations and complain about the interference.  Finally write the power companies about the interference.

Before you write, be sure to DOCUMENT the interference to various services; don't just make blanket statements.  If tape recordings are indicated, by all means do so.  And by all means, DOCUMENT TIMES AND DATES.

The problem is that they might be deploying the technology only in selected areas, not on a system-wide basis.  If you yell "wolf" (oops, sorry, "INTERFERENCE") before thay deploy in your area, or when the system is not running, it will only do more damage, as they then could claim we are making unsubstantiated and unwarranted claims.
Our BEST defense against BPL is to document facts, not just complain.  (And I don't like the idea of BPL any more than anyone else.)

It looks so easy, just slap on an injector here,
a repeater/extractor over there and some powerwifi at my house and presto bpl.
