hi ppl.
i come from Scotland but im working in Norway.
I can just about pick up radio Scotland MW on my personal radio but im wondering if a better radio would give me a better reception.
if so what would u recommend for under £100 and would it    
be a really good signal or just average?

Usually, its a better antenna that makes the difference. A wire dipole for the band you are listening to will improve reception.

Yes, absolutely try a better (longer usually) antenna first.  It does not even have to be resonant. Just make it long (several tens of meters).
