I take my test tomorrow. Now for the kicker all my radios and antennas came in today: Radios: FT897, TM-V7A, TH-G71A. Antennas: ATAS-120, Diamond X-50, Diamond NR770HNMOB. I also ordered a Yaesu MD-100A8X which will be here tuesday. I also got a MFJ power supply.  I had to sell my laptop and some other stuff to get it but it will be worth it.  Hopefully I will have my General in January. Thanks for all the help on all my questions ( I am sure I will have more).

Very cool!

Let us know what your call is when it is issued so that we can all look for you on the air.

Sounds cool! When I see your call, I will be looking for you on the bands.  Gud luck and good hamming!

So much for my first radio, I had an ICO-720 transmitter with a manual transmit switch and a Radio Shack short wave receiver.  I could hear the entire novice portion of 40 meters at once the receiver was so wide...but I sure can pick 'em out in cw pileups now though (Hi)

Dang, RI126 you got a steal on that used G71A!!  I love my G71A and have used it for about a year now. That is one of the portables I'll never get rid of.

Looks like the original poster got a lot of great gear as well. Although this is a year-old thread, I hope the guy is doing well and still enjoying all his wonderful stuff!!
