As some of you might remember, I wrote an article on the proper techniques of installing PL259s on RG8. I updated that article and posted it on my web site. Two months ago, Larry Wolfgang wrote an article for QST on the same subject. About a dozen hams sent Larry e-mails about the errors in his article including me. Those corrections were published in the March issue of QST. Both of my articles and my e-mail to Larry mentioned the Cablematic UT8000 (www.ripley-tools.com) coax cutting tool. As a result, I have gotten numerous e-mails asking me where to purchase the tool. Unfortunately, a lot of distributors will special order them, but few carry them. Thanks to Ken's (W7WV) efforts, the following is a New Jersey, distributor who does stock the tool. It cost $19.60 plus shipping. Their URL is http://www.sunsetenterprises.com/series.asp?CODE=6187&C=Installation+Tools&S=Stripping.
