I have a MFJ 1024 active antenna that is works ok but I wonder if it would be worth while to tune the remote unit with a varactor for more selectivity? I did a search and came up with a link to

Apparently it can be done. I tried to subscribe to the mentioned group I found in the article but it was such a hassle to subscribe and login (login would not always work) that I gave up and unsubcribed. End of rant.
I can obtain the MVAM109, 30 to 450pf.
Any thoughts on this?
