I'm looking at buying one of these radios - can anyone tell me if there is support for using alpha tags for frequencies?

Thanks in advance!

hi,

I don't think so, the th-78a offered that feature.

http://www.kenwood.net has the th-f6a manual in PDF.

Yes, per their operating manual, up to 8 alphaneumeric characters -- see page 17 of the users manual.

yes yes and yes.....buy the radio, best little tri-band on the market.  I've had mine for over 3 years now and I have to admit but I did try the Yaesu VX-5r and I sold it as fast as I bought it.  The Kenwood TH-F6a is five watts all the way around, 2/440/220 and it's dual receive which I like alot as I do monitor two separate freqs at one time.
