(I posted this question earlier on the "site" forum)

Hi,

I want to pay for my suscription with my Debit Card, but evidently that's not possible??
I have a joint credit card with my wife, which I could use, but prefer to have the money taken out of my checking account instead.

Please let me know if using my bank debit card is possible.

Thanks!

hi roland,

have you tried the Paypal link to subscribe ?
Paypal account is not required to use paypal,
your checkcard should work.

Don't know why you couldn't use your debit card, I do it all the time for internet purchases, and I believe I used it for the subscription to eHam as well.

The transaction is just treated like any credit card, but is deducted from your checking account, just like any debit card transaction.

Thanks for all your posts to my problem.

I too have used my debit card for online purchases.
After filling out all the spaces on the payment form, I got an error message saying I didn't have a valid card.  It's possible I entered a number incorrectly, so I will try again.  If that doesn't work, I'll go ahead and use my charge card.

I appreciate this service and am happy to contribute each year.

Just letting everyone know I was able to use my debit card to subscribe.
When I tried to subscribe the first time, I got an error message.   Guess I must have entered something incorrectly.

Well, could have also been a problem with the card processors server......

Anyway, nice to hear you're okay and welcome abord!

By now, you probably have found a solution.  However...
If your Debit Card has a VISA or Master Card Logo on it, I can be used just like a Credit Card... That means you have to also "PRETEND" it is a credit card, and select CREDIT CARD not DEBIT CARD when you use it... especially at most of the ZONS at the point of purchase at major stores...

I've used my debit card like a credit card for major purchases, all the way down to just a few bucks...

Works every time... for me . . .
(now for the disclaimers!)
- your mileage may vary - results not typical - Paid actors not actual uses of the product -
