Does anyone have experience with this radio, ie ever owned or used one and is it a good rig? I have a chance to get one but have never seen or used one. Any input would be appreciated, thanks

Hello Dave:

I don't own one of these radios but here are some interesting sites that you might want to look at (did not see any reviews on this rig here on EHAM either):

http://www.mods.dk/mods.php3?model=dr-570&radio=alinco
http://www.alinco.com/pdf.files/
http://www.xs4all.nl/~pb0aln/htm/modif.htm

Maybe one of these DR-570 users you can email:

http://home.gci.net/~aclay/interest.htm
http://www.empnet.com/codxc/n7rfm/
http://vobbe.net/bio/

You say you don't know what the rig looks like and want to see one...well then go here and see it!

http://www.rigpix.com/alinco/dr570t.htm

Hope this helps some...73 and good luck de KB9UMT Don Peoria IL

I have the Alinco DR-570 and it is a vary good radio. It beats the yaesu FT-5200. The DR-570 will crossband with the swich on the top of the radio. It is a vary easy radio to use. If you are going to buy it, you should. It will withstand all kinds of abuse and heat.

Enjoy the radio!

I am looking for a wiring diagram for the radio/repeater switch located on top of this radio. s/n is 0001572. board # is UP0195. connector on board is referenced as EJ4UZ - it is a six pin header connector.

the color codes on the wires that are still attached are as follows:

pin 1 - pulled loose
pin 2 - pulled loose
pin 3 - red (ptt)
pin 4 - blue
pin 5 - pulled loose
pin 6 - black (ground)

the orange , yellow and green wires are broken off of the connector.

i have traced these wires to their prospective circuits and they do not have a pin identifier for the wires. I cannot find the switch on any of the schematics provided in the service manual.

help please!!!  color picture of this switch and connector would be greaT!!!
