Some people complain the process takes too long in this day of the Internet, but they have to give others a chance to get their check mailed in if they choose to pay by snail mail. The nice thing that once it's posted on the FCC's site you can start using the call right away. You don't need the paper copy. In fact you can print the paper copy from the FCC website or AE7Q's site. The only thing that matters is what is in the FCC's database.
