Is 11 meters a broadcast band in parts of the world?

Even as I write this, a sermon is being broadcast on channel 10 in the AM mode. It's in English with no discernable accent.

My sense is that it's coming to me via skywave, as it is fades in and out.

I don't think it's a prankster merely holding his mic near a broadcast receiver, as those types usually pause and listen frequently for a reaction.

What do you think?

Hey thanks Ronnie. As I tuned around later I heard broadcasts on many other channels.

I'm amazed that I never caught on to this prior to last night; my theory is that in my 11M days, if it didn't break squelch, I didn't listen to it. Perhaps now it is intuitive to listen for anything that can be copied.

Years ago there was a guy who broadcasted a sermon over the air on CB in NYC almost every night for 4 hours straight!  Eventually other CBers got really pissed off because he was tying up the channel, and they yanked his antenna down off the roof with a lasso.
