I would like to connect with Ham's that are into podcasting. Also is their a device what would let me hook my condenser mic into my IC-706?

This is a discussion group I set up for discussing the technical aspect of podcasting.

Thanks

Heil makes the adapters you'll need, but for a Condenser mic you're going to need some sort of preamp with phantom power. You'll also need a PTT of some sort, I like the handheld air traffic controller style, some like the footswitch.

I like tubes, they sound better, but there are many inexpensive mic preamps out there, all you're really looking for is the phantom power to light up the mic.

You could also use a USB mic and process it through a PC, using the line out back into your radio...

All in all, if I didn't mind headphones, I'd go with a studio headset.
