3rd post down from the top:

http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/6-0l-powerstroke-engine-drivetrain/11011-wiring-new-alternator.html

Since he spend some serious coin in a new alternator just to run his CB, sounds like he doesn't plan to give it up anytime soon.

Comments?

I don't have a suggestion, but I do have a comment:
It seems to me that he's choosing the path of the most resistance. It would be easier for him to just get his ticket and utilize 10 meters. I bet he could make more contacts with 25 watts on 10 than he will with 1500 on 11.

Why do we care?  Nice truck.  Totally against the FCC rules of 5 watts max for CB.  Zoom in on his license plate and report him to the FCC.  Is this you?  Do you know him?  Get him an Amateur license and then he'll really have some fun.

Think a 1500w CBer is bad?

Try a 70,000watt one...

Hmmm.  When's the opening date of the skip season?  Is there a limit of how many skips you can shoot in a day?  Is there a minimum size, or do you have to throw back the little ones?  Is there a special stamp I have to buy to put on my license to be able to shoot skips?
Heaven knows, I wouldn't want to break any laws.

Some solar powered walkie talkies hidden near his "20" with the PTT button glued in, transmitting on his favorite channels should do the trick! Smiley

why in GOD'S NAME would you, me or anybody care???  i am POSITIVE more then a few people with amateur licenses used a bit more then 4 watts in their day.  probably more then 1500 watts in their day.  but since you probably NEVER exceed the speed limit or cheat on your taxes, you wouldn't understand what i am saying.  if he's in YOUR area & interfering with YOU in any way, go ahead, don't shoot skip, shoot him if you think it'll make you feel better.  if all he is doing is contributing to the noise on 11 meters, forget about him!   THIS thread is EXACTLY why amateur radio operators are thought of as $&"+.  do you sit on the side of your street with a radar gun & call the police for every speeder?  do you follow every parent with child walking through the grocery store just WAITING for a reason to call child protective srevices?  do you call greenpeace every time you see a baby killer whale near a boat?Huh  i use a CB in my daily travels. gets me better traffic info then 2 meters or 80 meters ever could.  when i use my amateur equipment at home, i'll talk about equipment, antennas, cars, boats, vacation, weather, hot women, or the idiot hams that worry about everything that doesn't concern them, but i WON'T talk about CBers, lids, or moronic threads because EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US amateurs was at least one of them once upon a time.  had to get that off my chest.  have a nice day.

As far as a local ham getting him into Amateur Radio, from his remarks, I would prefer him to stay on 11m! There really are some folks we would be better off withOUT.  The FCC can confiscate his truck and 1500 watts without me feeling sorry. He states in one or two of his posts that local hams SENT him to 11m, bravo for those local hams.

No one has asked the right question here.  What does Skip think about this, getting shot at all the time??Shouldn't Skip complain about getting shot at by a CB'r to someone?  Local law enforcement? FCC?

As for the CB'r with 1500 watts or even 70,000 watts, all I can say is his radio is only as good as his receive, and if his receive gets mucked up by some "unidentified" interferrence, then hey, that's a shame isn't it??
