How do I get my key to work on my ICOM 706mk11g
I can hear the keyer but it will not transmit when operated. I have gone true the manual and can’t figure it out. I tried one of the free download interfaces for the 706 mk11g would this have screwed thing up. Thanks for any help I can get

Go to Menu M4 and press the BRK key (F2) until either BK or F-BK shows on the screen.  Normally you'll want to use BK, which is semi break-in.  When BK is turned off, you can practice CW without transmitting, and you can also zero-beat the other station by matching his tone frequency without transmitting a carrier.
