I think ham radio was reflected in a great light in many films, though.  In "Independence Day" it was hams who saved the planet, sending Morse Code to befuddle the aliens, who were too advanced to understand it. 

Replete with the over one foot long straight key, which was larger than the radio it was supposedly hooked up to...

The Simpsons has a Ham radio reference about every 100 episodes...

In episode 2F11 "Bart's Comet" we meet one of the kids nicknamed Ham "because I enjoy ham radio"

In episode 9F11 "Selma's Choice" Selma laments, "I got a lot of love to give, and right now my only outlet is my ham radio."

In episode BABF11 "Missionary:  Impossible" Homer talks to Marge via ham radio after being sent to a third world country to escape the PBS Pledge Enforcement crew after making a phoney pledge to get them to shut up and return programming to the show he wanted to watch.

In episode HABF03, "Homer's Paternity Coot" Principal Skinner was talking on his ham radio when his mother told him to "Get some real friends."

I think there was one more but can't remember it.  There have been some other radio references in the series although not explicitly ham.
