I need info about the control box for a CDR Rotor.  The rotor control box has a slider switch to conteol the rotor and I was wondering is the needle pointer on the control unit supposed to stay in the position in which you stop the rotor?  Mine doesn't stay in that position and returns to the south position until you move the rotor into another location  and then returns again to the south.

Thanks

That must be the very old (pre-1970s) slope-front maroon colored control box.  They haven't made it that way in decades.

But if that's what you have, you're right: When you let go of the horizontal rocker switch (LEFT to rotate counterclockwise - CENTER is "off" - RIGHT to rotate clockwise) everything stops including the motor and the indicator.

If you push the lever just slightly away from center, that will unlock the rotator's brake and activate the meter so you can see the direction without actually turning the motor.
