I always wondered why more women don't become hams. I guess it never occurs to non-ham women how many interesting conversations they can have (and how much it can save on their phone bills).

Funny?  Ridiculous would be more like it.  If the girls in those pictures are going ga-ga over ham radio, we've all been way out of touch.

I just saw an article about a father and his son who've just gotten their ham licenses.  The mans 15 year old daughter--who he tried to get interested in ham radio--said it just confirmed what she thought all along, that her father and brother were nerds.  That is the reaction you'd expect from girls and women--although there are (luckily) exceptions!  ;-)
