I had purchased the Diamond SRH999 and although it did work good after looking
up and seeing the great reviews on the Diamond SRH320A I decided to purchase it
since its quite a bit shorter than the SRH999. It actually does do just as good
as the SRH999. I decided to try this antenna with the "rattail" antenna booster
because I also heard good things about it. I'm disappointed. I am able to reach
repeaters I could not reach even with the Diamond antenna but when I ask for a
report I've been told that my transmission is very noisy and barely readable.
So, although I still use it to recieve stations I otherwise could not receive,
it stinks that I can't use it for transmitting. Did anyone else ever use the
rattail? If so, what is your experience?

I had to look up what you are posting about.

If you are running an HT with 5 watts into a repeater running more wattage than you are, you will find places where you hear the repeater dead full quieting and not be dead full quieting into the repeater, even if you use a beam.
