I am looking at a late model Land Rover discovery. How ham radio friendly are they.
How noisy are they? Where have people been mounting radio's Not a whole lot of console space

I have just been testing a Discovery TD5 Diesel Auto for the same purpose. So far, I am disappointed to find a pulse noise at a rate of about 4 per second strongly affecting all HF. It is present even when the "ignition" is switched off! It can be heard on the upper end of the "AM" band on it's own car radio. I am still looking for an RF quiet car to buy...any suggestions are welcome!
