If you don't smoke, remove the flip down ashtray and install it in that spot under the dash. If you have a detachable face, mount the face on the steering column on top of that nice, wide flat spot where the ignition key switch "molds" into the column. It won't block any gauges there, will be easy for you to read without interfering with your driving, and will be less visible to thieves. Run the control wire on top of the steering column through the dash and then rout it to your radio. Then install the main unit either under the passenger seat or behind the seat on the rear cab wall. I think the driver seat has an airbag control module plus the SCV wire for the stereo under there, so mounting the main unit under the driver's seat is not an option. If you drill holes anywhere on the firewall, make sure you can see where you are drilling. There are many computer modules in newer cars and you don't want to drill through one. A good option is to have either a REPUTABLE commercial two-way shop or a car stereo shop drill and run the power or antenna cables for you.
