Tips for Cleaning NMO Mounts

Hello All

Quick question.  Anyone have any experience/tips for cleaning the contacts on NMO mounts?  I have some corrosion that is the likely source of higher than normal SWR.

A small wire brush is your best bet. The insulating material is rugged enough to withstand moderate brushing.

Don't forget the antenna contact.

Careful not to grind through the silver plate on the center contact, if it's got it.  Sometimes this ends up black if the antenna gasket has failed, just polish it up with a dry rag.  If it's all rusty, whatever plating it had is gone and might merit replacement of the mount.
