Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality speaker mic for my Kenwood F6A.  I hear that the Kenwood ones are not that great.

My apologies if this is not the appropriate forum for this question.

Thanks

Darryl,
I have the Kenwood TH-79A radio and I use the Kenwood speaker mic. I like it.
You could look into MFJ or Pryme radio products, they both make microphones for the Kenwood handhelds.
I also use the MFJ boom mic for my Kenwood when I go hiking.
I hope this helps some, hopefully you will get more people answering your question,
Tom

I'm in a similar situation - I've read several bad reviews on poor transmit audio quality using the Kenwood models.

What I've been looking into is the Pryme SPM-600 series, but I have yet to find someone who could give me feedback on it one way or the other...

Let me know if you find something that suits you well - and I'll do the same in return...

The Maha MH-800 receives good audio quality reports on my TH-F6A. The quality is indistinguishable from the built-in microphone or my TH-G707A mobile. No bells and whistles, just a basic speaker-microphone, and it costs about $20 most places.
