broken atas 120

I have an atas 120 and when I tune it, the motor runs, but the antenna doesn't go up or down.  Is there anything I can do, or do I have to return it to Yaesu.  Do you think the cost of repair would be the same as just buying a new one?

My brother had one of these, and the same thing happened to his. A small plastic gear fails for what ever reason. It does require a return to the factory. In my brother's case, they fixed it free although the antenna was over a year old. It's worth a try.

Or, you could save your money and purchase a HiQ or Tarheel, and improve your signal by a couple of S units.

I do agree with Alan that any of the big motorized antennas will work rings around the ATAS series of antennas.

It's reports like this that made me cancel my order for the ATAS120 and put an order in for the Little Tarheel II.
