I have a Diamond motorized mount that I had mounted on the luggage rack on my Pontiac Transport van. I had to get a different vehicle and got a good deal on another Transport van that does not have a luggage rack. I still want to use the motorized mount, but I will have to mount it differently. Does anyone have a van that uses a lip / trunk mount on the rear hatch? I think this will be my only option if I want to continue using the motorized mount.

You could just drill a hole....

If you look on my web site under Installations you'll see a couple of vans that use "L" brackets. Look for Lee Kissell's (K9GPS) installation.

If you're in an urban area, you'd be better off with a 1/4 wave mounted atop the van, but obviously this requires a hole.
