Well, I just bought a Maldol AX-95 at a hamfest recently so we'll see what my experience with it will be.  Hopefully I will not be disappointed, because it wasn't cheap.

I don't understand why everyone is touting NMO-mount Larsen models; that's the antenna I'm replacing!

My Larsen dual-band mag-mount NMO antenna performed wonderfully for years UNTIL the little spring loaded pin in the antenna half of the NMO finally wore out.  Most NMO's I have seen use a big wide copper tab for the contact on the antenna side, but this one was literally a spring loaded NEEDLE.  Once the spring gave out, that needle was rattling up and down inside the NMO mount, causing the whole antenna to become intermittent although I didn't know it until later.

Long story short, my Larsen antenna FRIED MY RIG.  No more NMO mount antennas.  Ever.

Oh, one more thought:

So far I already have one complaint with the Maldol... no tuning instructions!
