I have a new 2007(but Classic model) Silverado 2500HD. These trucks have a middle console with two cut-outs, one small, one larger, that would seem ideal for a radio mount. I've been unable to find faceplates for these areas, but whatever--I'll bet I can make them. I wonder if anyone here has mounted their radios in this classic Silverado console? Any thoughts, tips, or tricks you'd like to share? TIA

It depends on the radio. You would want to mount a high-power radio inside the console as there is not enough ventilation. Even a 25 watt one would get warm after a few minutes use.

They're a good place to mount a remote head. You can always buy a new cover, and stick it back to replace the original you drilled holes in.
