yup I have read that site a long time ago and it is one of the few that inspired me to try my hand at it. Several years later i finally got the puzzle to fit together! Cheesy It was also kinda nice that wifi became cheaper and more previlant in computer stores.

Well on another note I have been thinking of software. I have several friends that are gamers they use this program Ventrillo. I have used it and it produces very nice VoIP and P2P Shareing. It also supports very old computers! LOL which is typical in the ham community.....recycle! It alsoo supports lunix, unix, mac users as well.

so does anyone have suggestions for an adhoc program for a wireless VoIP connection?

I think the SIP protocol will allow connections between
clients without the need for Asterisk. You could still
use Asterisk.

Look up X-Ten Lite on google.  It runs under windows and
I've used it as a soft phone.  Personally I hate soft phones but it may be useful for you.
