Does anyone have experience troubleshooting HF noise coming from a Ford 7.3 Power Stoke Diesel?

I just installed my FT-100D into my 02 Ford with a power stroke diesel and I'm picking up what sounds like ignition noise across all HF bands with 40 meters being the worst.

Since diesels do not have an ignition system I’m assuming this noise is coming from the fuel injection, the noise does vary with engine speed. The noise is not coming from the alternator because I disconnected it and noise remained.  Any ideas?

Yes! There are a lot of things you can do, and if you visit my web site you'll hear about a lot of them. But first, go to http://www.w8ji.com and look toward the bottom of the page. Look for Ford diesel noise.

This is the electrical noise coming from the HEUI fuel injection solenoids used on the International T444E "powerstroke" engines.

Alan has some great info on his site to combat noise, etc..
