The Azalea Coast Amateur Radio Club will be operating from "The Showboat" BB-55 The USS NORTH CAROLINA, one of the most decorated Battle Wagons of WWII, tonight from 7pm to 10pm edt and tomorrow from 8am to 12 noon edt. The ships wartime callsign was NIBK, her new call is NI4BK, qsl info via QRZ.com, we will be operating on 20m and 40m, 20m will most likely be ssb and 40m cw, give us a call and help remember those who gave all.

Dang, sorry I missed this. Though I've lived up north for many years I actually helped make the North Carolina a shrine and would have enjoyed the contact and QSL.

As a kid in NC schools we donated nickels and dimes toward the restoration project and got some kind of pin and an admission ticket, as I recall. I never visited her until I was nearly 50.
