I need help with the pins that need to be jumpered on the 9 pin plug on the back of a kenwood TS-700 where the remote VFO would go. I just bought one and no plug came with it

Try going to the Kenwwod page and downloading the VFO cable pin out

The socket is actually for the VOX-3 unit.  Without the plug or the VOX-3 the radio will not transmit.  Looking into the socket from the back of the radio, the first pin clockwise from the spacer is pin 1.  Pins 1 and 2 need to be jumpered.
