Most seem to be link collections, old static pages that haven't been updated in months (years) or worse.

Check out the Greensboro Amateur Radio Association (GARA) club page: <http://www.w4gso.org/>. This is an active club with a monthly newsletter (link in the web page).

I'm a recent member and am impressed with the effort being made not only to recruit existing Hams but to create new ones as well. Last fall the club hosted Technician license classes and this winter taught a class for the General license. An Extra license prep class is being prepared for later this year. Exams are held monthly for all comers in association with the W4VEC volunteer examiner coordinator.

The previous poster's suggestion is probably the best I've ever seen...  If you're looking for something extremely low-maintenance, a very basic site, with the essential information, I've been impressed with what ARAC has been able to do with limited resources.

This is the site I maintain.
It is for the W.H.E.R.E. Amateur Radio Club. (WHERE = Wayne, Hamilton, Edwards Radio Enthusiast)
Freewebs is free, and easy to build and maintain.
The club has been around for a whole year, man it feels like just yesterday that we were drawing up the constitution and other stuff.
I try to update the web site at least once a month, or more as needed.
Thats one thing I can stand is a club to have a web site, but none of the info ever changes, then whats the draw to come back and look again???

The Rochester DX Association club web site has an extensive library of back news letters and a method for it's members to post their scores for contests that they have participated in. The scores go back to 1999 and if you look at the years 2000/2001 there is over 54 million club contest points alone.
