<< transmits good, no audio on any band or mode,>>

Now there's a contradiction!

Bad mic?
Bad mic connector?
Bad mic cable?
Mic not plugged in?

I have one with the same problem.
It happened to me when I plugged in an external speaker in the car. Receive audio disappeared. Unplugging the speaker didn't help and on taking it back in the shack and plugging it into the FP700 power supply and it's speaker the problem remained.
I could get audio out from an auxiliary plug in the back to my sound card in my computer but of course the front panel volume control had no effect so I used the volume control from the sound card.
Used it that way foe several months until today when I took it to a fellow ham to look into it for me.
I suspect a bad external speaker jack.
I'll let you know what he finds out.

73,
John
