I have narrowed my 2m mobile choices to these three models. Obviously, the V8000 is the newest and most expensive. Any first hand opinions on why I should or shouldn't get any of these models?

This is not the proper forum for this...should have been in the VHF Forum, or possibly in Elmers.

Anyway, of the three, the V8000 is by far the best and well worth the added cost.  It's a clear winner.  I've traded both the IC2100H (not bad) and the FT1500M (disappointing, especially compared with my FT3000M) and they're long gone but I'll probably pick up a V8000 shortly -- used it at HRO in the store, very impressive.

I would put my money on the IC-V8000, as well.  Nice rig.

The only advantage that the Yaesu has, in my opinion, is the very convenient DIN plug on the rear for packet usage.  The V-8000 is a pain in the neck, since you need to utilize both the microphone and speaker connections to hook up a TNC.  At least with the FT-1500M, you needn't disconnect anything to switch between voice and packet.
