Hello Forum.

I have Yaesu FT 897d and the past few times i've used it decided to turn itself off and totally reset itself. It only happens when i'm keying the microphone. I have done a relay clean and it was ok, but again tonight it has done it again.

Anybody come across this problem before?

Thanks if anyone can help.

When Kenwoods do that it's a power cord issue usually. The voltage drops when the radio is keyed due to increased current draw and the radio resets itself.

Measure the voltage at the back of the radio or better yet inside the radio when you key it and see what happens.
