Well, my battery is dead. Is the replacement just a CR-2032 3V Lithium battery? I know there are tabs, but Batteries Plus will spot weld them wherever they are needed for $1. Also, is the plus on top or on the bottom. Mine is dead after 19 years...imagine that!

TIA,
Dave

The PCB side would be Bottom. When I open the rig and pull down the front panel, I see the battery from the top. Is that the - side? It does not look like there is any special trick to unsoldering it. Also, I can call Kenwood to see what they charge, but if it is just a CR2032, Batteries Plus will sell you one with tabs welded on to match the original for only $1 more. I want to see what Kenwood wants for this...if they are not already old from Kenwood.  :-) At least Batteries Plus has all of them without tabs so they move a lot of stock.
