This is a QRP version of the IC-730. Anyone ever heard of this radio?

Yep.  There was one on eBay that I was very much wanting to buy.  Unfortunately, according to the owner the receiver died so he cancelled the auction.  It's off for repair and hopefully I'll have a chance to buy it when it comes back.

So far as I know the IC-730S was only sold in Japan.  It's basically an IC-730 with a 10W PA.  Current draw on receive should be lower than a normal IC-730 since the you won't have the bias current for the bigger PA.  Otherwise it should be just the same as an IC-730.

I'm envious of your rig Smiley

72/73,
Caity
